Chinese culture on Batik Indonesia

Chinese cultural influence on public life in Indonesia have lasted more than a thousand years ago. Immigrants from China also has been living in this country  before the arrival of the Dutch. However, the types of batik, which we know as the new Chinese batik appeared several decades after the Dutch batik present and have a place in the market throughout the north island of Java.

Displays of patterns and motifs typical of China, for example dragon, lion, phoenix , peony flowers, turtles, kilin (lion-headed dog), a divinity, and decorative as many listed Chinese ceramics. Form of cloud in red or blue, also adorn many Chinese batik. Many appear in buketan pattern as in the general pattern of the Dutch batik. Occasionally there were applications keraton(palace) batik patterns and motifs in color red, blue and soga. In the techniques and patterns, often Chinese batik  more beauty than Dutch batik.
